The Reviews

One can always expect to find plenty of Amazon customer reviews for KitchenAid mixers. Being an entry-level mixer, the Classic Series model is one of the more affordable KitchenAid products. It garnered an excellent average rating of 4.4 out of 5 stars on

KitchenAid K45SS Classic 250-Watt Stand Mixer White PiecesOut of 418 reviews, more than half gave ratings of 4 stars and higher. Satisfied customers love this machine for its splendid performance and ease of use. In fact, one male customer who wasn’t exactly fond of cooking found himself spending more time in the kitchen after purchasing this model. Some even swear that their cooking has tasted better since using this mixer. It’s a real time-saver too.

While the KitchenAid Classic Series Tilt-Head Mixer has plenty of neat features, it does have its own limitations. People tend to forget that this model only has a 250-watt motor. While it can work smoothly with thicker textures, it’s not exactly the best mixer for making bread dough. The Classic Series is not for the serious bread maker. While it can work with thick textures, using it too much for breads and other heavy dough will only shorten its life. Keep in mind that the Classic Series is more of an entry-level mixer great for “lighter” recipes like meatloaf, cookies, cakes, and the like.

Some people who gave low reviews complained about oil leaking from the back of the machine. Others also claim that their units overheat when they are mixing heavy dough. (Aagain, the Classic Series is more ideal for light jobs.)

Inspite of quality issues reported by a number of customers, we still have faith in the KitchenAid brand. We think that the Classic Series model is a fantastic entry-level mixer—and it will give you long years of service for as long as you don’t push it to its limits.
